I am really pleased to announce that after a long search spanning several years I have finally found a beautiful coloured filly - Heiland Esmerelda - who was bought as a long term ride and drive prospect. However, as with the best laid plans, I also fell in love with her beautiful dam - Keisha - and couldn't resist her. Keisha therefore founded the K-line (coloureds) at Taraco. Massive thank you to Kirsten and Steve for parting with these two wonderful horses and for all their help and advice and to Simon for helping me achieve this dream. I have always loved the traditional cobs and am now aiming to breed traditional cobs and welsh part-breds alongside the welsh ponies and cobs. I have been absolutely thrilled with the first four coloured foals at Taraco - Taraco Kimani (tragically lost in 2007), Taraco Kimba, Taraco Karina and Taraco Echo.
Taraco Karina
2008 saw the arrival of this beautiful stunning black and white filly is by Shorty and is a half sibling to Coloured National Champion Heiland Esmerelda. Like Esme she is out of the fantastic black tobiano mare Keisha and just like her sister she looks like being a lovely traditional filly. Having already retained Esme at the stud I am really pleased to have another filly out of this special mare to retain. This delightful filly has been named Karina a greek name meaning pure or a swedish name meaning 'dear beloved one'.
Taraco Echo
2008 black and white welsh part-bred filly by Shorty and out of the beautiful welsh mare Farchynys Cristal. Echo is a half sister to the wonderful trio of family ponies Taraco Eclipse, Taraco Ebony and Taraco Emerald. A lovely strong filly with excellent conformation, lovely welsh paces and great character. This wonderful filly has been named Echo to reflect the fact that she 'echoes' her mother's beautiful temperament, action and outlook on life.
Taraco Kimba
This absolutely stunning black and white colt is by Commanche Ace and is a full sibling to Coloured National Champion Heiland Esmerelda. Like Esme he is out of the fantastic black tobiano mare Keisha and combines faultless conformation with elegant powerful action and a gentle but spirited character. Born only hours after her owner's lost his half sister, Taraco Kimani, in a tragic accident this colt has been named Kimba which is an Aborigine word for bush fire - something that brings complete devastation and new life.
Taraco Kimani
This striking filly is the first ever coloured foal to be bred here. She is out of the fantastic black tobiano mare Keisha and by the wonderful traditional stallion, Chainey. Her dam's name Keisha is an African girl's name meaning "One who brings Joy, favourite" so following in this theme this lovely filly was called Kimani which is an African girl's name meaning "Sweet and beautiful". This beautiful lady was tragically put to sleep after a freak accident in 2007. RIP KImani and my thoughts are with her owner Caroline.
Heiland Esmerelda
This stunning yearling filly is by the fantastic Elite Graded Stallion Commanche Ace and has a superb temperament, excellent conformation and movement. She is registered CHAPS and BSPA and was coloured Champion at the British National Foal of the Year Show. She is due to be covered by Tuckers Traveller's Gift for a coloured foal 2009.
Keisha
A beautifully marked 15hh black tobiano mare with excellent conformation and action. Keisha has had 2 stunning coloured foals for me already - Taraco Kimba and Kimani and I look forward to her 3rd foal for me this year. She is registered with CHAPS and BSPA and in foal to the lovely traditional stallion Shorty for May 2008.
Tuckers Traveller's Gift
Buddy is a stunning 13.2hh traditional stallion by 'The Pitta' and out of 'The Vines Mare' who has 10 1/2 inches of bone, feather and type to die for. I specifically wanted a coloured traditional pony stallion with a real pony head, good quality bone, plenty of feather, short coupled, good action and temperament. I have been looking since I bought Esme and it took me a while to find this fantastic little stallion, who is based in Yorkshire, but he is everything I wanted and I look forward to his foal out of Esme in 2009.
Commanche Ace
Elite Dual Graded Stallion and multiple Supreme Champion in hand and under saddle.Stunning stallion owned by Kirsten Wilson, Heiland Stud. He is a beautifully marked piebald 13.3hh stallion with 8½ inches of bone that was foaled in 1991.
Shorty
Stunning 5 year old traditional coloured stallion with over 9" bone, great feather and fantastic temperament. Sire of my 2008 coloured foals Taraco Karina and Taraco Echo.
