Foals '09

I have covered 9 mares for 2009, some of whom have been scanned in foal, some of whom haven't and most of them have only been covered once so who knows how many will have held. But potentially I am expecting five welsh cob foals, three welsh mountain pony foals and one coloured traditional gypsy cob foal. I have been priviliged to use some of the best stallions in the country, and possibly the world, this year and I must say a huge thank you to all the stallion owners for letting me use their lovely boys. Stallions used this year include: Royal Welsh and Prince of Wales Cup Winner Danaway Flash Jack, Royal Welsh winner and Prince of Wales Cup Winner Gwynfaes Cullhwch, Royal Welsh winner and multiple Supreme Champion Danaway Tango, Supreme Champion and sire of countless Royal Welsh winners Trevallion Valentino, Royal Welsh harness winner Teifi Frankie Flanagan, high flying sales stallion Friars Superman, Lapstone Paragon (son of International Champion Springbourne Boy Blue) and graded coloured show stallion Tuckers Traveller's Gift. So a huge and heartfelt thank you to the stallion owners. Please click on the photos of each mare to see more information and pedigrees of the expected foal. Taraco Rockstar
2009 Section A colt

Vervale Rara does it again ~ a stunning colt foal by the Springbourne Boy Blue son Lapstone Paragon. This colt is a full sibling to the 2008 filly Taraco Rosetta (retained) and half sibling to RASE winner Taraco Renegade and the prize winning fillies Taraco Razzmatazz and Taraco Rioja. This colt was up and charging about within an hour of being born and is a really strong chunky colt with a beautiful head and the usual 'attitude' I expect from Rara's foals! Sold to France - good luck to his new owners.
Foaled 8.30am 25th February 2009

Taraco Morocco
2009 Section D colt

A lovely buckskin (dun) colt out of my gorgeous smokey cream mare and by the lovely young palomino stallion Danaway Desert Storm (Danaway Flash Jack out Costa Cloey by Trevallion Valentino). Half brother to the lovely buckskin (dun) filly Taraco Montana this is a really nice strong colt. Sold at teh cob sales and was 4th highest priced colt foal - congrats to his new owners.
Foaled 12 noon 16 March 2009

Taraco Bonita
2009 Section D filly

Having had three consecutive colts for me I am absolutely ecstatic about this beautiful filly in 2009. Out of one of my foundation mares, Terackie Golden Beauty (by the Royal Welsh winning stallion Nebo Thomas), and by the Supreme Champion stallion and top stock getter Trevallion Valentino this foal is a half sister to some of the best welsh cobs on the show circuit such as multiple Royal Welsh winner Drogeda Stormy Tempest, Supreme Champion and medal winners Danaway Samson, Danaway Carolina and Trevallion President Dino. This filly is an absolute delight to be around and a very welcome addition to the stud.
Foaled approx 5am 26 April 2009

Taraco Ghazaleh
2009 section A filly

This beautiful filly is the first for us out of Blanche Glisten who was imported from Holland in 2008 having been scanned in foal to the lovely stallion Friars Superman. Glisten is by Breachwood Marwyn and out of the lovely mare Springbourne Gemma making her a half-sister to Vervale Stud's Blanche Glimmer. This foal is a delightful addition to the stud and will be retained as a future show and broodmare. Foaled approx 1am 21 April 2009

Taraco Fabio
2009 Section D colt

out of one of my favourite mares (Danaway Cherimarie) and by Danaway Flash Jack - this hugely successful cross has already proved to be a winning combination producing my stunning foundation mare Danaway Fantasy, the super stallion Danaway Flashback (in Germany), Taraco Fiasco (retained) and Taraco Fernando (retained). Cherimarie has also produced the stunning fillies Danaway Riviera (in Ireland) and Taraco Fiorenza (sold to Holland) - I was hoping for a beautiful filly to retain but cannot be disappointed with such a strong colt. Sold to Denmark - good luck with him!
Foaled approx 2am 20 May 2009

Taraco Firecracker
2009 Section D colt foal

As many people know, this cross has been 9 years in the planning with my foundation mare Fantasy (Danaway Cherimarie cross Danaway Flash Jack) being covered by my favourite stallion Danaway Tango (by Tireinon Triple Crown). Fantasy's first foal for me, Taraco Fireblade, a stunning chestnut colt, has been retained as a future stud stallion already and it was a thrill to have a palomino half brother arrive by Tango. As you would expect this is a flashy colt with four socks and a perfect blaze!
Foaled 10am 24 May 2009

Taraco Lionheart
2009 Section A colt foal

A really endearing chestnut roan colt who is as sweet-natured as he is flashy! His dam is Taraco Louisiana is the first homebred filly to be covered added to which Lulu was an orphan after I tragically lost her mum at stud in 2005 so this is a very special foal. His sire is the lovely young stallion Teifi Frankie Flanagan. This striking roan stallion (already a RWAS winner in harness) is a great moving section A.
Foaled 24 May 2009

Taraco Amira
2009 Section D filly foal

A beautiful bay filly out of Mathfred April (Danaway Flash Jack x Oben Pearl by Nebo Daniel) and by the Supreme Champion stallion Bookham Lodge Nelson (by Trevallion Hooch and out of Synod Rose Pipit). This lovely filly foal has an exemplary pedigree which features Danaway Flash Jack, Nebo Daniel, Trevallion Hooch, Thorneyside Flyer and Brynymor Welsh Magic as the stallions in its immediate pedigree.
Foaled approx 2am, 5th June 2009

2010 foals

Yet again I have been honoured to use what I consider to be absolutely exceptional stallions this year and have high hopes for some lovely foals in 2010. My Section As have been covered by Friars Golden Mark (by Penual Mark) and Ysselvliedts Golden Boy (by Blackhill Picalo) and the Section Ds have been covered by arguably some of the best stallions in the World including Royal Welsh winners, Lampeter and Glanusk winners such as Danaway Flash Jack, Danaway Tango, Gwynfaes Culwch and Trevallion Valentino. We have covered 12 mares (4 section As and 8 section Ds) for 2010.
