Danaway Carolina

Carolina: a girls name derived from the feminine form of the Latin Carolus, from the name Charles. The states of North and South Carolina in the USA were named after King Charles I of England 

This fantastic mare is a very welcome addition to the stud being by the superb stockgetter Trevallion Valentino and out of one of my favourite old mares, Rhosygarreg Brenhines who in turn was by the great Nebo Brenin. As you would expect from her breeding this is a massive, powerful moving mare with great bone and feather, and depth combining quality with old fashioned welsh cob type. Shown as a youngster this gorgeous mare was a top show mare and medal winner which is no surprise as she has an unbelievable pedigree that features the very best stallions in her immediate pedigree!

Her sire, Valentino, is a supreme champion in the show ring, as well as the sire of numerous top show winners including multiple Royal Welsh Winner Drogeda Stormy Tempest, Northleach winners Danaway Miss Supreme, Cascob Hannah and multiple Supreme Champion Danaway Samson, Danaway Peaches, Danaway Valentine as well as medal winners Trevallion President Dino and many more. His stock have been successful in hand, under saddle and in harness at the highest level with many off his offspring exported overseas. As well as being owned by Danaway Stud, arguably one of the leading studs in the UK, Valentino has been used by some of the best studs in the country including the likes of Nebo, Geler, Cascob, Abergavenny, Fronarth and Trevallion.

Carolina's dam is Rhosygarreg Brenhines, a superb old fashioned mare by the top stallion and sire ratings topper Nebo Brenin. Brenin himself is a legend both for his own success in the show ring and his amazing influence on the breed as well. His showing career including winning countless county shows, including the supreme champion at The Lampeter Stallion Show in 1984, whilst his action, quality and temperament lead to him excelling in the driving world, including winning the Royal Welsh Show in 1986. Nebo Brenin topped the sire ratings for Section D`s on eight occasions and the Section C`s nine times and sired countless champions, Royal Welsh winners and sire ratings toppers himself. Carolina's siblings include the medal winning stallion Danaway Dempsey, the exported colt Danaway Ali (USA), and medal winner, lampeter winner and supreme champion Danaway Buster.
