Pearl; a small round nearly white special stone found in oysters, which is very valuable and is used to make jewelleryI have long been a fan of the beautiful mares Nerwyn Pannwl and Nerwyn Pert belonging to Piet en Rhodé Thielen van Praat of the Vennebos Stud in Holland. It was a dream come true this year when both mares had stunning colt foals that Rhodé was looking to sell as they were closely related to all her mares. The difficult decision was in choosing which colt - but after much debate I chose the gorgeous perlino colt foal out of Pert and by Thistledown Blue Moon. Pearl is a really quality colt, and like all Rhodé's foals has a beautiful front and oozes quality. Hopefully in time he will prove to be a lovely out cross for my Penual Mark lines. He has a beautiful head, kind eye, great temperament and wonderful colour to top off a colt that has great conformation and powerful straight movement. This colt has a super pedigree featuring some top welsh mountain ponies and I hope that his colour will not handicap him in the show ring in the future.
His sire, Blue Moon, is a young stallion owned and bred by Thistledown Stud. He is by the legendary stallion and sire ratings topper Pendock Legend (by Revel Jeeves) and out of the beautiful Sunwillow Bellona (by Waxwing Hurricane) who is a daughter of the superb Sunwillow Quest. His dam is a gorgeous mare by Royal Welsh Champion and many times Champion Nerwyn Cadno (son of Royal Welsh winner Coed Coch Lili) and out of the beautiful mare Radmont Pom Pom.
